Yesterday afternoon I sat down on the floor to change the baby. As I lingered there, playing with her, Wonderboy came up behind me and leaned against me for a little while. He loves to supervise my baby-tickling. Then he began—oh, it was so sweet!—to gently stroke my hair. For several minutes I sat there enjoying the soft touch of his hand on the back of my head. He was chuckling softly, and I was just melting.
Then he touched my arm, and his fingers were slimy. Startled, I turned to look at him and there he stood with a big happy grin, one hand glistening with goo—and an open jar of Vaseline in the other.
My hair is very shiny today.
LOL!! Now, on that funny note, I can go to bed.
Oh, no! I told you there’s some Pillsbury Doughboy in that child …. 🙂
LOL! I bet it looks so pretty :)!
Agh! How funny!
Ha! Figures. You seldom get lovin’ from a little one without paying a price, be it chocolate stains on your shoulder or vaseline in your hair!
Oh yuck! But I think it would have been worth it because little boys are so gentle and sweet at head rubbing.
How funny! At least it wasn’t glue!
Oh. My. Goodness. Once again, you have demonstrated that I am not alone in the universe: there are other mamas like me who are blessed with funny, messy little darlings who ensure that life is never dull!
Yup, sounds like a boy thing! It’s much cuter when it happens to someone else (LOL).
I can really relate to this as I had a similar experience. The baby found the vaseline I (used to) rub on my feet before bed and smeared it on the sheets, bed rail and my hair. I woke up when she placed a big glob of it in my eye! It must feel nice to explore.
LOL! Instant hair conditioner! 🙂
